This project investigates the molecular mechanisms of sperm-egg recognition and fusion in vertebrates, using zebrafish as a model. By combining in vivo and in vitro approaches, it aims to uncover the essential components and principles governing fertilization processes.
The life of every sexually reproducing being can be traced back to a singular event: the fusion of sperm and egg.
