This project aims to extend the decidability results of monadic second-order logic to more complex frameworks. It seeks to enhance theoretical understanding while exploring practical applications in the verification of systems, potentially leading to new methodologies in logic and automata.
This proposal aims at generalising the central decidability results of Büchi and Rabin to more general settings, and understanding the consequences of those extensions both at theoretical and applicative levels.The original results of Büchi and Rabin state the decidability of monadic second-order logic (monadic logic for short) over infinite words and trees respectively.
