This project aims to develop imaging probes to study GABA receptors, which are linked to schizophrenia. By creating a specialized antibody-based imaging technology, it seeks to provide insights into receptor expression in living subjects, potentially improving diagnosis and understanding of this mental disorder.
Changes in GABA receptors are known hallmarks for numerous neurological diseases including schizophrenia which is a severe psychiatric disorder that has a profound effect on both the individuals affected and society.
