The FUTURES project utilizes UAV-Lidar technology to create detailed 3D maps of the Brazilian Amazon's forest structure. This initiative aims to support sustainable practices among local communities while addressing environmental challenges and enhancing their economic and cultural resilience.
The proposed FUTURES project will use the novel UAV-Lidar technology conceived and developed in the current ERC-funded PAST project, in collaboration with the Brazilian National Institute for Space Research, in an entirely different socio-economic application aimed at helping Extractive Reserves (RESEXs) of the Brazilian Amazon.
