This project investigates the role of foundations in medieval societies across various cultures, including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. It aims to compile an encyclopedia detailing their structures, purposes, and historical significance, contributing to a better understanding of cultural interactions.
In the present foundations are ascribed a central role in overcoming social and political problems, be it in the field of social welfare or the sponsorship of science and the arts.
