The project aims to create an advanced Guidance Navigation and Control sensor for spacecraft, enhancing their ability to navigate and land on extraterrestrial surfaces. It combines innovative optical sensor technology with established methods to improve accuracy in space exploration missions.
The general goal of the project is to develop an innovative solution for spacecrafts' Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) sensor for relative navigation.
It is a contribution to the strengthening of the European position for space exploration.
It targets the improvement of the accuracy and robustness of spacecraft position and attitude control to, for example, land softly and precisely sensitive scientific payload on extraterrestrial bodies.
