This project explores the interplay between blood flow and cellular signaling in the vascular system to develop new therapies for cardiovascular diseases. It integrates engineering and biology to study how changes in hemodynamics affect arterial structure and function.
Cardiovascular diseases represent the principal worldwide medical challenge of the 21st century (WHO), and new concepts to treat, predict and even prevent these diseases are needed.
