This project investigates the role of feedback connections in the mouse visual system by combining computational modeling with in vivo imaging. It aims to understand how these connections influence sensory processing and to characterize their anatomical properties, providing insights into neural pathways.
Less than 10% of synapses in sensory areas of cerebral cortex are from feedforward input; the rest stem from lateral and feedback connections.
