This project aims to create a hybrid imaging system that combines X-ray Computed Tomography and Fluorescence Molecular Tomography. The goal is to enhance imaging accuracy for biomedical applications, particularly in non-invasive breast cancer detection and treatment monitoring.
This proposal offers to combine X-ray CT (XCT) and Fluorescence Molecular Tomography (FMT) into a hybrid, quantitative system and method.
The project builds on state-of the-art knowledge that only recently became available in different European states as represented by the partners herein.
In return it delivers the first such hybrid system worldwide.
