This project develops an advanced technique for analyzing unsteady airflow and acoustic emissions using Tomographic Particle Image Velocimetry. It aims to enhance understanding of flow patterns and noise production, contributing to the design of quieter, more efficient aircraft.
The recent developments of the Tomographic Particle Image Velocimetry technique and of the non-intrusive pressure field characterization method, by the applicant at TU Delft Aerospace Engineering, now opens unforeseen perspectives in the area of unsteady flow diagnostics and experimental aero-acoustics.
As a result of this work it is now possible not only to quantify complex flows in their three-dimensional structure, but also to extract quantities such as pressure.
