This project investigates the genetic and environmental factors influencing fitness in the Common Buzzard, a wild bird species. By utilizing advanced DNA sequencing techniques, it aims to identify specific genes linked to reproductive success and other fitness traits across different color morphs of the species.
Understanding how genes and the environment affect animal fitness is a central challenge in current evolutionary biology.
Therefore, I propose a study to identify genes with strong effects on fitness in a wild bird population.
