Pathologic fluid overload is a main clinical complication of congestive heart failure (CHF). CHF is a severe chronic disease affecting ~28 M people worldwide.
Around 8 M of CHF patients are resistant to oral medications and undergo frequent hospitalizations to remove extra fluids with aggressive acute treatments, all carrying severe complications.
