This project explores the role of fibrinogen in regulating neural stem cell behavior after central nervous system injury. It aims to identify how fibrinogen affects the proliferation and differentiation of these cells, which is crucial for developing new therapies for nerve regeneration.
After brain injury or neurologic disease, the ability of the central nervous system (CNS) to regenerate is limited.
Neural stem cells (NSCs) have the potential to differentiate into neurons and glia, but neurogenesis is incomplete after CNS disease because of a changed extracellular environment.
