This project develops a low-cost hydrothermal carbonization system to treat faecal waste in less developed regions. By converting waste into valuable products, it aims to improve sanitation and reduce health risks associated with improper waste disposal.
Despite the global effort for providing proper sanitation service to the habitants in less developed regions, still massive amount of faecal waste is disposed of in-situ resulting in serious health problems and environmental contamination.
