FAST-PATH aims to enhance digital pathology by developing tools for the standardization and integration of high-throughput image libraries. The project focuses on improving data accessibility and knowledge discovery, particularly in oncology, to streamline workflows and support automated analysis of tissue samples.
Histopathology has traditionally been a low-throughput, labour-intensive technique.
Conventional manual annotation of tissue slides requires a pathologist to examine the tissue and cellular components to grade the level of disease progression.
