The EXPLORA project aims to explore extreme aquatic environments to discover new microorganisms that produce valuable biomolecules. By developing innovative sampling methods, it seeks to isolate compounds for various industrial applications, including pharmaceuticals and recycling.
Extreme aquatic environments account with a vast and yet largely unexplored biodiversity that holds immense potential for novel active biomolecules with multiple industrial applications.
