This project investigates the origins of the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the universe by combining experimental and theoretical approaches in particle physics. It aims to explore new physics scenarios related to electroweak baryogenesis using data from the Large Hadron Collider.
The recent discovery of the Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) constitutes a milestone in a major work programme to test the Standard Model and search for new physics, in order to obtain a global picture of electroweak symmetry breaking and its possible connections to open questions in particle cosmology. A key question relating the high-energy, precision and cosmic frontiers in particle physics is the origin of the cosmic matter-antimatter asymmetry.
