This project aims to enhance the efficiency of converting carbon dioxide into useful products by engineering specific microbial pathways. It focuses on optimizing enzymes to improve growth on carbon feedstocks in a bio-based economy.
The ongoing climate change requires immediate actions to reduce the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere.
One such action is the transition from a fossil-based to a bio-based economy that builds on CO2-derived one-carbon (C1) feedstocks like formate.
