This project investigates the origins and spread of Indo-European languages in Europe by analyzing prehistoric loanwords and their cultural implications. It aims to clarify the historical debate surrounding the influence of early Bronze Age cultures and the spread of agriculture on language development.
Today, Europe’s linguistic landscape is shaped almost entirely by a single language family:
