The EuroHOPE project evaluates the performance of European health care systems by analyzing health-related quality of life, patient satisfaction, and costs associated with five key health issues. It aims to develop methods for routine evaluation and international comparisons of health service outcomes and resource use.
By using available databases as well as by collecting additional data on health-related quality of life measures (enabling Quality Adjusted Life Years as an outcome measure) and patient satisfaction (including expectations) the EuroHOPE project will evaluate, through a microeconomic disease-based approach, the performance of European health care systems in terms of outcomes, quality, use of resources and cost.
