EuroChar focuses on carbon sequestration by transforming plant biomass into biochar, which can be added to agricultural soils. The project evaluates the carbon storage potential and environmental impact of biochar production using various methods, while conducting large-scale field experiments in multiple countries.
In the context of climate change mitigation, technologies for removing the CO2 from the atmosphere are key challenges.
