ESSENTIAL aims to advance security science by training interdisciplinary experts to systematically address security challenges. The project focuses on enhancing societal resilience through research on various security-related topics.
Though security is a field of study capable of diverse applications indaily life, security science is a young discipline requiring largerinter-disciplinary effort. ESSENTIAL seeks to develop security science byaddressing two of its main problems: the ad-hoc approach to securityresearch and the growing complexity of the security environment.
