The ESPACE project aims to create a comprehensive atlas of the human pancreas to better understand diseases like diabetes and pancreatic cancer. By integrating molecular and cellular data, it seeks to provide insights into pancreatic health and disease mechanisms.
The human pancreas is a physiologically unique organ involved in the secretion of several hormones, such as insulin, thus regulating blood sugar levels, as well as the secretion of enzymes for the digestive system.
