ESCALATE focuses on developing high-efficiency zero-emission powertrains for heavy-duty vehicles, aiming for a range of 800 km without refueling. The project emphasizes modular design and advanced management tools to enhance performance and reduce emissions in real-world conditions.
Heavy-duty vehicles account for about 25% of EU road transport CO2 emissions and about 6% of total EU emissions.
