This project investigates how failures propagate in complex networks, such as those in biological, transportation, and communication systems. It aims to develop models and tools to analyze the impact of various types of errors on network performance and to create more resilient network structures.
The main subject of the proposed project is concerned with the question of whether and to what extent design principles for complex networks can be derived from the study of error propagation phenomenon (short EPP) in modern network structures found in biological, transportation and communication systems.In this project, we generalize propagation model to explicitly consider failure propagation.
