This project focuses on identifying epigenetic biomarkers that can predict and monitor the progression of Type 2 diabetes and its cardiovascular complications. By analyzing DNA methylation, it aims to develop personalized treatment strategies and improve early prevention methods.
Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is one of the leading causes of death through its deleterious effects on cardiovascular disease (CVD).
The complications of T2D can be reduced through early and appropriate preventive and therapeutic interventions.
Several studies suggest that epigenetics may play a key role in the pathogenesis of these diseases.
