This project investigates how adiponectin, a molecule released by epicardial adipose tissue, affects heart function and redox state. It aims to understand the communication between heart tissue and adipose tissue, potentially revealing new insights into heart disease mechanisms.
Recent evidence suggests that adipose tissue (AT) affects vascular and cardiac function, through the release of bioactive molecules called adipokines.
