The project aims to investigate unusual paleomagnetic data from the Ediacaran to early Cambrian period, seeking to understand its origins and implications. By doing so, it intends to reconstruct the paleogeography of this critical time, enhancing our knowledge of the evolution of life and climatic changes on Earth.
The Ediacaran-early Cambrian (~635-520 Ma) was an interval of immense global change with fundamental state shifts occurring in the bio-cryo- and atmosphere.
