The EPIAROUSAL project investigates the relationship between epilepsy-related respiratory dysfunction and arousal regulation, particularly focusing on how repeated seizures may lead to chronic respiratory issues that increase the risk of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy.
Both seizures and their complications are modulated by patients’ vigilance states.
