This project develops ultra-low power semiconductor technologies for Internet of Things (IoT) devices, enabling them to harvest ambient energy for recharging. By optimizing energy consumption, it significantly reduces battery needs, thus minimizing replacement costs and environmental impact.
The number of internet of things (IoT) nodes is exploding and is expected to reach trillions by 2035.
The biggest logistical challenge of an IoT device is its finite battery life.
In response, we develop disruptive ultra-low power semiconductor technologies.
Our energy harvesters allow IoT devices to use ambient energy (solar, thermal, vibration, radio) to recharge batteries while our sensing solutions and our microcontrollers optimize/reduce the energy consumption.
