The ENZYME-SWITCHES project focuses on creating enzyme-based biosensors for the rapid and sensitive detection of diagnostic markers in real samples. By combining the specificity of enzymes with the programmability of DNA nanodevices, it aims to simplify current diagnostic processes.
WHY:
Diagnostic markers detection plays a crucial role in the diagnosis of human disorders.
Unfortunately, however, current methods routinely used for the detection of these biomarkers still require sophisticated equipment, washing intensive, reagent-intensive multi-step processes.
