This project aims to develop cognitive training interventions for individuals with autism, focusing on enhancing flexible behavior. It combines theoretical insights with neuroimaging techniques to explore brain processes involved in cognitive flexibility.
The proposed project seeks to apply theoretical knowledge and insights from the research field on cognitive training and develop interventions that target flexible behaviour in autism.
While empirical evidence for success of cognitive training is provided by improvement of skills within a certain task context, this project aims to determine which training regimens would target underlying mechanisms and enable the transfer of trained skills to other tasks, as well as to everyday behaviour.
