This project aims to develop a system using electronic nose technology to detect cork taint in wine corks. By identifying contaminated corks before they are used, the project seeks to enhance wine quality and consumer confidence in cork stoppers.
Inasmuch as it is expected that cork stoppers will continue to be the preferred choice of wine bottlers, it is necessary to address a major drawback associated with the use of cork.
