This project develops Multi-Spectral Opto-acoustic Tomography, a new imaging technique for high-resolution biological imaging in small animals. It aims to apply this technology to improve endoscopic imaging in gastrointestinal procedures.
The ERC-MSOT (233161) proposal developed a new imaging modality, termed Multi-Spectral Opto-acoustic Tomography, applied to mesoscopic biological imaging of small animals. MSOT breaks through the penetration limit of optical microscopy and can image several millimeters of tissues in-vivo at high resolution.
