This interdisciplinary project aims to transform archaeological studies in Italy by shifting from site-based to landscape-scale analysis. It integrates traditional methods with new technologies for better understanding of historical and environmental interactions.
The research proposal envisages a two-year interdisciplinary program designed to stimulate changes in the way in which archaeologists in Italy in particular but also more generally in the Mediterranean world study the archaeology of landscapes, moving from an essentially site-based approach to a truly landscape-scale perspective.
