This project investigates the geochemical processes in subduction zones, focusing on the dehydration of antigorite serpentinite and its impact on magma composition. By analyzing ultramafic rocks in southern Spain, it aims to enhance understanding of element transfer and fluid generation in these geological settings.
In subduction zones, chemical elements are transferred between different reservoirs of the Earth (i.e., the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, the lithosphere and the asthenosphere) and important amounts of magmas are generated.
