EMACTIVE investigates how the primate brain represents emotional displays of self and others by recording neural activity in key brain regions. The project aims to understand the neural mechanisms that facilitate social interactions and coordination through advanced recording technologies and neural decoding methods.
A general principle of brain functioning is the exploitation of neural substrates for self-related processes, such as action planning, decision-making and space coding, to map those of others.
