This project focuses on advancing computational fluid dynamics through the development of entropic lattice Boltzmann models. These models aim to improve the simulation of complex fluid flows across various scales, enhancing efficiency and stability in engineering applications.
Computational fluid dynamics remains challenged with the complexity of fluid motion on all scales from atmospheric phenomena down to flows in micro- and nano-devices.
The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) has been conceived to replace the conventional methods of computational fluid dynamics.
Due to its computational efficiency and simplicity in handling complex geometries, LBM was only partly successful in simulating incompressible flows.
