The project focuses on developing innovative fishing trawl doors, named EKKÓ, which improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Designed to avoid seabed contact, these doors save fuel and enhance profitability for fishing vessels while protecting marine habitats.
Trawling is a fishing method that involves pulling a net through the water behind a vessel and trawl doors are the steel plates attached to the fishing net to keep it open during fishing.
