This project investigates a novel approach to anti-tumor therapy by targeting the metabolic energy supply of blood vessels, rather than starving tumors. By mapping endothelial cell metabolism, the project aims to identify new anti-angiogenic candidates for cancer treatment through various experimental models.
Current anti-angiogenesis based anti-tumor therapy relies on starving tumors by blocking their vascular supply via inhibition of growth factors.
However, limitations such as resistance and toxicity, mandate conceptually distinct approaches.
