ECHAUTISM investigates echolalia in autism from linguistic, behavioral, and neural perspectives. The project aims to understand whether echolalia is a repetitive behavior or a form of speech imitation, and how it may aid language acquisition in autistic children.
ECHAUTISM, carried out jointly between CARE at Boston University and ACTE at the Universit libre de Bruxelles, aims at investigating the nature of echolalia in autism from a linguistic, behavioural and neural perspective.
