This project addresses the urgent need for effective Ebola Virus Disease diagnostics during outbreaks. It focuses on improving rapid response laboratory capabilities to identify infected patients, aiming to enhance control measures in densely populated areas affected by the virus.
The current Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak has caused more than 5000 deaths within a few months in West Africa (Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia being the most severely affected countries), including numerous healthcare workers.
