This project aims to understand how H-NS proteins silence antimicrobial resistance genes in bacteria. By studying the molecular mechanisms involved, it seeks to contribute to the development of new treatments against antibiotic resistance.
Antimicrobial-resistance is a growing concern in modern medicine.
The spread of antibiotic resistant genes, both within bacteria species and between species, is greatly accelerated by horizontal gene-transfer.
