The DYNAMICE project investigates the dynamics of ice sheets and their mass loss by studying the flow of polar ice and the underlying mantle. It focuses on how variations in the viscosity of ice and mantle materials affect ice flow and stability, contributing to better predictions of sea level rise.
The loss of ice mass from polar and high-elevation regions is a significant contributor to global sea level rise and affects climate and biosphere changes.
