This project examines how humans and animals update their beliefs about uncertain events in dynamic environments. By combining neuroscience and computational modeling, it aims to understand the mechanisms that guide decision-making in the face of unpredictable information.
The environment is structured in time, allowing humans and animals to make predictions about the future and adjust behaviour.
To this end, they perform ‘dynamic belief updating’ whereby beliefs about event probabilities are iteratively revised in light of new observations.
