This research investigates the relationship between neurotransmitter balance and cognitive decline in aging. It aims to identify how changes in dopamine and noradrenaline systems affect brain function, with the goal of developing interventions to improve cognitive health in older adults.
Many older adults experience impairment of cognitive functions, such as memory.
While changes to the aging brain are often assumed to underlie cognitive decline, but it has turned out surprisingly hard to identify coupled brain-cognitive changes in aging.
