The Domognostics project aims to create a platform for monitoring building automation systems to enhance energy efficiency. It detects faults and unexpected events in real-time, integrating with existing systems and various sensor types to improve operational efficiency and safety in buildings.
The emergence of networked cyber-physical systems, in which sensor/actuator networks are integrated with software algorithms, facilitates the development of advanced Building Management Systems (BMS) aimed at enhancing energy efficiency in buildings, which accounts for 40% of the energy consumption in the EU.
