This project examines the history of the European computing industry from World War II to the present, analyzing its evolution alongside the oil industry. It aims to understand the challenges faced by European IT companies and the historical context of data as a commodity.
The “Data is the new oil – a political history of the European computing industry” project investigates the history of the European computing industry from the aftermath of the second world war until the present.
