This project investigates how Mycobacterium tuberculosis causes cell death in immune cells, focusing on a protein called Ninjurin-1. By studying the mechanisms of cell lysis and inflammation, the research aims to uncover new insights into tuberculosis pathology and potential therapeutic targets.

Mtb primarily infects macrophages, leading to the death of some of these cells via distinct regulated cell death (RCD) mechanisms.
