This project investigates the unique physics of ultracold gases using Dysprosium atoms, which have a strong dipole moment. The research aims to explore many-body physics and the potential for supersolid states through high-resolution imaging of atomic clouds.
In ultracold gases, novel physics can be explored taking advantage of the long-range, anisotropic interaction present between atoms or molecules with a large dipole.
Such systems were probed first with Chromium atoms at the 5.
